Throughout Ireland, over 500,000 family carers dedicate themselves to providing remarkable levels of care in the home to loved ones, relatives and friends with additional care needs. Caring for a loved one can be rewarding. But it can also be isolating, frightening and difficult. Family Carers Ireland is the national charity, offering family and young carers a range of free supports and services, helping to combat the challenges that a caring role can bring.
No one should have to care alone.
Our vision is an Ireland in which family carers are properly recognised, supported and empowered. Our mission is to highlight the contribution of family carers to Irish society and to improve the lives of family carers throughout the country. We believe that no one should have to care alone.
Through a national network of Support Centres and a Freephone Careline (1800 24 07 24), Family Carers Ireland provides essential supports and services including information and advocacy on rights and entitlements, advice on care planning and crisis support, counselling, peer networking groups, learning and education, young carer support and help in accessing essential respite/emergency respite.
Your kind donation/ fundraiser will help us to continue to:
- Deliver our free counselling and one-to-one advocacy services.
- Offer our Freephone Careline 1800 24 07 24.
- Deliver relevant and practical learning and educational courses.
- Provide in-home respite/emergency respite.
- Maintain our carer peer support groups.
Please remember, donations of €250 or over in a year are eligible for tax relief. €250 is actually worth €362 to Family Carers Ireland - at no extra cost to you.
